Description: The State bank was established in November 2009 with 100% ownership by the Government of Mongolia in order to maintain the stability of the Mongolian banking sector at a time of strain on the health of the system. We acquired the viable assets from two failed banks as well as safeguarded the continued access and viability of customer deposits from one of those failed institutions. Since then the situation has stabilised and the Bank is focussing more of its activities towards purely commercial interests. As such, our efforts are geared towards the middle retail and SME markets and we offer a competitive range of products to meet the banking needs of those segments. Towards that end the Bank began, and is continuing, a drive towards increased automation to allow a greater level of flexibility and efficiency in customer service. As this year progresses, the State Bank will roll out a range of products to differentiate itself from the competition in terms of both the products’ attributes as well as the in-branch customer experience.
