THE MONGOLIAN TAKES 1ST PLACE IN GLINKA'S CONTEST
The Mongolian singers have taken first places at the 24th International Vocal Contest named after Glinka.
It ran on December 3-15 in Moscow, Russia. The soloist of the military "Suld" ensemble G.Ariunbaatar has become the winner of men's opera vocal contest.
He has been followed by a countryman E.Ankhbayar. In accordance with a jury decision, receivers of the Grand Prix and of a prize in women’s contest have not been nominated. E.Ankhbayar also received a special prize for the best performance of the S.V.Rakhmaninov’s creations. Another Mongolian singer J.Byambajav has become the best in singing classical songs created after 1975. In 2009, a soloist at the Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet State Honored Actress S.Mongontsetseg took the 1st place in the Glinka international contest.
