Safety measures for child riders in Mongolia
The safety of child jockeys during the Naadam races was discussed in the Civil Chamber on July 1
Among the participants were the Union of Honored Mothers and the Union of Mongolian Horse Sports.
Mothers called for a union of such children to look after their interests, and wanted safety gear for the riders. They also pressed for stronger enforcement of safety regulations, providing insurance cover for the children, disallowing children under 7 from competing, and compensation for injured children and their family.
Participants appealed to MPs and people interested in horse sports to see that the children received all protection.
