President Elbegdorj congratulated Nyam-Ochir Sainjargal on winning the bronze medal in Men’s -73kg judo match at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
President Elbegdorj arrived at the ExCel complex to cheer Mongolian judoka who brought Mongolia the first Olympic medal from London.
On the same day, President Elbegdorj was present at the Men’s 52kg category Boxing event and watched Merit Athlete of Mongolia N. Tugstsogt’s first victory. Mongolian athletes appreciated the President for arriving and cheering the athletes, which was the great stimulus for them. President Elbegdorj visited the Olympic Village in London and met with Mongolian athletes taking part in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, the Games of the XXX Olympiad. The President received by Deputy Prime Minister and the senior officer of Mongolian team M. Enkhbold, the head of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee Z. Zagdsuren and Chairman of Physical Education and Sports Authority Ch. Naranbaatar. Twenty-nine of our athletes are competing in seven events of the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Our well trained and optimistic athletes would undoubtedly make achievements, officials said to the President. President Elbegdorj wished them success and said “It is important to participate in the Olympic Games representing their country, but making achievement is the most important. I would like to call for athletes to raise the State flag under the sky of the Olympic Games”. His Eminence Khamba Lama D. Choijamts and the Hero of Labor, Merit Athlete E. Badar-Uugan who are accompanying the President also wished them success. Mongolian National Broadcaster, Education TV, UBS, TV5, and NTV have the rights to broadcast the Olympic Games.
