L.Otgonbayar wins “Beijing marathon-2011”
The Beijing International Marathon is an annual marathon race of 42.195 km held in October in Beijing, China.
The race was first held in 1981 and has been held every year since.
In addition to the full marathon, there is a 10km run, a mini-marathon and a half marathon. At the 2010 edition of the race, 4897 runners finished the marathon course, which included 556 women. The 2011 Beijing International Marathon was held last Sunday October 15th with over 30,000 runners participating in four categories.
The race started in Tiananmen Square and made its way through Dongcheng, Xicheng, Haidian districts and finally finisheing at the Ceremony Plaza of Olympic Park.
In the half marathon category Mongolian runner L.Otgonbayar won a gold medal, E.Battsetseg received a silver medal and B.Ser-Od had a 6th place finish and a London 2012 Olympic Games berth.
