Five Mongolians advance in international opera competition
Five opera singers from Mongolia have qualified for the second round of the 24th International Vocal Contest named after the Russian composer Mikhail Glinka, which is being held in Moscow from December 3 to 14.
Of 167 opera singers who competed in the first phase of the tournament, just 37 advanced to the second round.
The five Mongolians still in the running are E.Ankhbayar, J.Byambajav, Ch.Badral, B.Batbaatar, and G.Ariunbaatar. They will compete against opera singers from Russia, China, Croatia, South Korea, Moldavia, and North Korea in the final round of the competition.
