Shareholders of the massive Oyu Tolgoi deposit met for talks over disputes between parties in London. The three board members of Oyu Tolgoi LLC representing the Mongolian Government, holder of 34 percent of the project, and the project developer Rio Tinto, holder of 66 percent stake in the mine, had challenging talks between 23rd and 27th September with little progress. The talks were delayed to continue the negotiation in Ulaanbaatar in October.

The APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM) that is ongoing in Bali, Indonesia, from October 4-8, 2013 is attended by ministers from the 21 member countries. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Mr. L.Bold is attending APEC Ministerial Meeting at the invitation of the Government of Indonesia which is holding APEC Chairmanship. This is the first time when Mongolia is invited to an APEC high-level meeting since it has submitted its official request for membership in APEC in 1993.
